Hello. I'm Kathryn Gardner
Welcome and thank you for visiting this site! My name is Kathryn Gardner (she/her) and I am a full-time photographer proud to say I am one of few Accredited Professionals living in the West Kootenays, British Columbia.
I have explored my world through the lens of a camera for as long as I can remember and have incorporated photography into various career paths along the way – freelance writer, active-travel tour leader, recreation specialist – to name a few. Based out of my studio in the West Kootenays, I create fine art portraits, headshots and commercial content imagery. In my downtime, I can usually be found in the great outdoors, camera in hand, capturing images of everything from wildlife to people wild at heart.
I take my craft seriously, but never myself, and I’m known for helping clients feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely enjoying their photographic experience. My goal is simple: create beautiful imagery you’ll be proud to live with and share.
So what about you? What brings you here today? Are you ready to take the plunge and do something really special for yourself with a portrait experience? Or is it time to create a new folder of promo images for your business?
I can't wait to hear what you have to say, so let's chat soon and put a plan into motion.
Member of the Professional Photograpahers of Canada
In 2013, I joined the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). The Association is an amazing community that provides support, education and growth for Canadian professional photographers. Holding a high standard of professionalism, PPOC requires all members to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics which assures you that services are delivered with honesty and integrity while providing professional quality imagery.
I love how PPOC's development opportunities allow me to continually hone my craft.
I received my first Accreditation in Equine Photography 2016, followed by Environmental Portraiture, Studio Portraiture, Travel Illustration, and Animals; and have earned the Master of Photographic Arts and Service to Photographic Arts designations.
I currently serve as the BC National Director, representing British Columbia on the Association's board of directors
What does all this mean to you?
By hiring a PPOC Accredited photographer, you can rest assured that you are working with a professional who is sworn to the highest standards of professional conduct and is recognized for their photographic skills. You can find Accredited photographers in your area by visiting the PPOC website.
